I wouldn't call it tool less but the Leviton QuickPort is about as easy as it comes. Leviton has a video showing you how it is done. I don't have it under a minute like the video, but much simpler than the methods that required a punch tool.
First: let me say the service from Falcon Tech. was first class. Great communication, fast shipping, top quality. These shielded jacks are top quality, designed and manufactured with precision and ease of use. The tooless design works perfectly, although there was a bit of a trial-and-error adjustment this DIY’er had to make with the placement of the wiring collar. I also had to use a small pair of needle nose pliers to seat the wires in the collar. However, once all 8 wires are seated, the collar seats easily in the jack (by hand) and the metal collar closes with the aid of channel locks. Note: the collar is seated when small plastic studs are seated in the collar. Properly closed and seated, the the jack is secure. So far, I’ve had no failure rates. However, for this (old) DIY’er, the graphics depicting the Orange and Brown colors are hard to distinguish. Sheesh … my vision isn’t what it used to be.
All in all, these are great fittings that snap perfectly into the Leviton QuickPort plates … just be sure to fully seat the bottom edge before snapping into place.
